We had a wonderful holiday in France we stayed on a campsite north of Paris (Burney Riviera). The campsite had three wonderful fishing lakes so my husband & son were very happy.

Unfortunately Lara broke her arm on the second day when she fell of the monkey bars. Luckily we had an E health card for the first time & it worked, I wasn’t asked to pay. Wow it was very efficient x-rayed in 20 minutes the problem was, although Nick speaks some French it doesn’t run to body parts. So it was stressful waiting to find out if it needed an op or just plastering, thankfully it was just plastering.  Lara still managed to enjoy her holiday; she had plastic bag over her arm & splashed about in the lake.

The plaster is now off, but Lara isn’t using her arm, she still eats with her left & has not straightened it out yet. So that is my worry at moment!                               

Lotty has had her first season, which seem to last forever; it was a total pain as she kept taking off the pants we tried to get her to wear. We need to decide weather to have her spaded or if we will have a litter of puppies. The children obviously think this is a wonderful idea, but will I be able to cope, as I have no experience of this.

I am really pleased I have finally got my office decorated in lilac, Callum keeps telling me it is a selfish colour. Also the carpet has gone; I love the new laminate floor. This is super for cleaning as I seem to manage to spill oils etc regularly.   

MARJORAM

For stress relief, aiding sleep, quelling sexual desire, coughs, asthma, lowering blood pressure, soothes aches & pains, painful periods.

I personally like this oil because it is so versatile; I find this a brilliant alternative to lavender for those that don’t like the aroma.

If you are suffering from the symptoms of coughs and colds this can be used as steam inhalation. It helps to clear the head if you are suffering from sinusitis, a build up of catarrh also good for asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory difficulties. Can be massaged (a few drops in a vegetable carrier oil) into throat and chest to soothe tickly coughs, as it is a warming analgesic with mild sedative effect.

It has a sedative effect so is a good oil if anybody is suffering from insomnia, as this has quite a masculine smell it is more popular with men. Use this oil is your mind is racing, & you can’t switch off; you keep thinking of things you have to do. A nice mix to aid a peaceful night sleep is 2-3 drops marjoram   & lavender in an oil burner, or mix 2 drops to a tablespoon of carrier oil for a massage

It has good pain relieving properties especially for in digestion, constipation, flatulence, stomach cramps.

If you do ever suffer from constipation the best thing to do is use 5ml of vegetable oil with 2 drops of marjoram, which you gently massage onto the abdomen, in a clockwise direction.

Use on a hot compress for menstrual pains that is uncomfortable & can help regulate irregular periods.                                                                                             This oil is good for people suffering from high blood pressure as it dilates the arteries thereby reducing strain on the heart.

It’s also good for massaging into muscles after physical exertion. If suffering from arthritis or rheumatism this is good oil to use to relieve coldness & stiffness.
