Frankincense 

Frankincense has a haunting woody/spicy fragrance with a hint of lemon.  It originates from the Middle East, mainly Iran and Lebanon and was used by the Egyptians to soothe aching limbs.  It also has been used in the past to aid meditation as it slows down breathing, producing feelings of calm and elevation.  It's comforting and refreshing action is helpful for anxious nervous and depressed states of mind and its excellent effects on respiration are useful for asthma sufferers.

Its properties help relieve heavy periods and it is considered a general tonic to the Uterus as well as helping to soothe the stomach and ease digestion.  Frankincense also has a positive effect on coughs, colds and flu, as it regulates catarrh and has a soothing action.

This oil blends well with Sandalwood, Pine, Orange, Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli, Basil, Black Pepper and other spice oils.
